PCS Check-in

US Army PCS Info

How’s your move going?

We’re mid-move this week with a quick TDY trip and confirming all the packing and loading next week. I’m hopeful, but well aware of everything that can go wrong. All the things.

We worked super hard to prep for this PCS season. I followed the past routine for maintaining privacy re: our location and PII.

Thanks to FB groups and pages like Lost During My PCS, military families have a better chance this season of having a more positive experience. If you haven’t joined or followed there, I recommend it.

Following some advice from Lost and PCS Like A Pro, this year I printed the new (May 2020) DoD contract with moving companies and familiarized myself with the terms. Please head over to Move.mil and check out the tutorials and guides available for this year. You’ll be amazed how much it helps with your prep work. Make that PCS notebook! Print the guides to have on hand when the movers show up. Knowing what you should expect from your moving companies gives you leverage when dealing with them. Also, keep those coordinator and military office phone numbers handy, ICE.

May the odds be ever in your favor!
