Please, for the love of all things private, STOP using social media apps on your personal devices. The applications built by Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc… are designed to suck up all the information from devices they possibly can access. In their Terms of Service, they include these permissions and most people don’t read or understand the language. Many don’t even care… My problem with the ‘not caring’ crowd is that my contact information may be in their Contact List they share. No matter how careful I’ve been, now the company has my PII.
If you still want to use FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, or the rest, open the pages in a safe browser on your devices. I recommend Mozilla’s Firefox or if you prefer a Chrome-based browser, use Brave. These browsers can be downloaded from your app stores for any device. Once you have the browser downloaded, open the settings/options and turn on the Do Not Track and limit 3rd Party cookies. Uncheck the data collection options by the browsers.
You don’t have to use Safari, Internet Explorer, Edge, just because they’re installed by manufacturers.
