Sharing what you know- the FRG

Mentorship among spouse groups is essential to the military’s mission.  Nothing is as strong as the connection among military families in sharing this lifestyle.

There are some significant ways you can share what you’re learning.

  • You can help other families protect their privacy and safety online.  Attend an FRG meeting and offer to share how you’ve protected your family.
  • Host a Coffee and spend a few minutes talking to younger spouses about the importance of online safety.
  • Start your own website and share your story.

FRG meetings are security concerns themselves.  Does your FRG have an Open Facebook Group?  Do they announce meetings that are publicly visible?  In a prior FRG I was in, they announced FB events publicly and shared a map to the spouse’s house.  The BN CO saw it and got involved.  That is never a good development.  Using any social media platforms to communicate with your FRG members is great as long as security is prioritized.  Have your Coms shop evaluate it for security if you’re not sure about the settings.  Younger spouses are accustomed to putting it all out there.  Help them use social media responsibly.
